AMA Composite Insulation Material is a flexible laminate with a thermal class of F or above. It is constructed by bonding a central layer of polyester film with aramid paper on both sides using a Class H adhesive. This structure provides an excellent balance of electrical insulation performance, mechanical strength, and thermal resistance.
The aramid paper used in AMA exhibits properties similar to Nomex® 464, offering high dielectric strength, good thermal stability, and reliable durability in demanding electrical applications.
High Thermal Resistance: Depending on the grade of aramid paper used, the thermal class typically reaches Class F (155°C) or Class H (180°C), with some high-performance versions capable of withstanding up to 220°C for short periods.
Excellent Mechanical Properties: Combining the toughness of aramid paper with the tensile strength of the film, it offers superior tear resistance, fold endurance, and mechanical durability.
Stable Electrical Performance: It possesses high dielectric strength and insulation resistance, maintaining reliable electrical performance even in humid or high-temperature environments.
Great Processability: It is easy to slit, shape, and insert into slots, and it shows good compatibility with various insulating varnishes and resins.
AMA composite insulation materials are primarily used in high-heat-resistant motors and transformers:
Motors: Slot insulation, phase-to-phase insulation, and liner/interturn insulation.
Transformers: Interlayer insulation for high and low-voltage windings, as well as wrapping for leads, ends, and coil exteriors.
Other Electrical Equipment: Insulation protection for electromagnetic coils, reactors, and electronic devices.
